Pet Travel Scheme and Pet Passports: IMPORTANT NEW GUIDELINES
In the event of a ‘no deal’ Brexit the government has issued new guidelines for those of you who may be travelling to Europe with your pet. If you are planning on travelling with your pet shortly after the Brexit date (29th March 2019) then you need to be aware that in the absence of a deal being agreed, your pet should have a rabies antibody blood test:
- a) a minimum of 30 days after a rabies vaccination,
- b) a minimum of three months before your planned travel date.
This means we must have things started 4 months in advance of your travel date.
We would like to ask that if you are planning to travel with your pet at all next year you contact the practice so that we can ensure you follow these additional procedures in order that you encounter no problems during travel.
