James Brown - Veterinary Surgeon
From a very early age James knew he wanted to be a vet.
In 1986 he took the first steps in fulfilling that ambition
by securing a place at Glasgow Vet School. He qualified in 1991
and went on to work for four years in mixed practice where he
gained experience working with both large and small animals
– here he also met Carol!
In 1995 he moved to Dundee to work with the PDSA as a Veterinary
Officer. Whilst at the PDSA he dealt with lots of trauma cases
on a daily basis as well as a wide and varied surgical caseload.
His ambition to run his own practice was finally realized when
James took the plunge and moved his young family to Polmont
and in March 2002 opened the doors of Polmont Veterinary Clinic.
Any spare time James has is spent with his family, wife Carol
and their young daughter, who is showing real signs of following
in her parent’s footsteps if her love for animals is anything
to go by!
James is pictured here with his own dog, Pasco.

Carol Brown - Veterinary Nurse
Carol is self-confessed ‘animal daft’ and always
knew that she would work with animals for a living. Having gained
experience at the same mixed practice as James, Carol gained
entry to Myerscough Agricultural college in Preston and qualified
as a Vet Nurse in 1995.
On qualifying Carol moved to work in a mixed practice in Perth.
As the only Vet Nurse working with five vets, Carol quickly
gained the experience and knowledge necessary to ensure the
smooth running of a busy practice – experience that stood
her in good stead when it came to opening Polmont Veterinary
Clinic. When not at work Carol is kept busy looking after her
daughter, dog and two rabbits. |

Julie Morris - Veterinary Nurse
Like Carol, Julie has never considered any other career.
She always wanted to work with animals and after three weeks
work experience at her local vets practice during 4th year at
school she was hooked!
She qualified in September 1995 and has been part of the Polmont
Veterinary Clinic team since day one. Julie’s pets include
one dog (who comes to work with her every day), one budgie and
two rabbits – her husband lives in constant fear of what
she will bring home next! Julie is pictured here
